Abstract

The objective of this work was to study the adherence strength between TPV and PP, which have been overmoulding. The morphology and the type of rupture generated by modifying the melt temperature of the overmoulded TPV on the PP substrate were studied. It was found that higher melt temperature produce the best adherence strength generating an adhesive rupture. The adherence strength was tested by applying the concept of EWIF. Furthermore, the authors found that some plasticizer of the TPV formulation migrates through the interface to the PP.
